Adverts unsuitable for children and young people are only served in advert breaks of content unlikely to appeal to children. This is in line with scheduling guidance from Clearcast. Clearcast is the industry body that assesses adverts against the UK Code of Broadcast Advertising (the BCAP Code - https://www.asa.org.uk/codes-and-rulings/advertising-codes/broadcast-code.html), which sets out what is and isn’t permitted.
The Parental PIN restricts access to age-rated programme content, not advertising content. For more information please read - https://www.channel4.com/4viewers/faqs/all-4/how-content-restricted-ensure-children-and-young-people-are-unable-access
