Adverts unsuitable for children and young people are only served in advert breaks of content unlikely to appeal to children. This is in line with scheduling guidance from Clearcast. Clearcast is the industry body that assesses adverts against the UK Code of Broadcast Advertising (the BCAP Code - https://www.asa.org.uk/codes-and-rulings/advertising-codes/broadcast-code.html), which sets out what is and isn’t permitted.
The Parental PIN restricts access to age-rated programme content, not advertising content. For more information please read - https://www.channel4.com/4viewers/faqs/all-4/how-content-restricted-ensure-children-and-young-people-are-unable-access -

Subtitles via Watch Live are supported on most of our programming and platforms (Amazon, Roku, iOS, Android and within a web browser) however not everything will carry subtitles either because none are available or, as in the case of some of our older content, because the subtitle format is not compatible (e.g Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, etc.). If subtitles are available, an 'S' button will be visible on screen.
If you are having any issues with the subtitles via Watch Live please get in touch via our CONTACT US form.

If you find that you are suddenly unable to playout video, this might be due to other applications using the same resources in your phone. You might be able to watch content again by closing any other open apps and/or rebooting your device.

Great news; we now allow you to download to SD card. In order to take advantage of this feature you need to be on app version 6.4.13 or above, and you will need to toggle this ON within the settings in the app. You will then have to set the storage from “internal” to “external” and ensure that there is sufficient space available on the SD card to be able to take advantage of this feature.

You will need to upgrade to app version 6.5.0 or above to be able to keep downloaded episodes for more than 7 days. If you are unable to download this application version it means your device is no longer supported, and you will be unable to take advantage of the 30 day downloads feature.
