Some ad-blocking software can prevent play buttons from appearing and the player may also appear to hang. We would suggest that you either disable the ad-blocking software or add channel4.com to your whitelist of sites.
We currently know of two freeware 'shields' available on both Mac and PC that cause problems:
- Peer Guardian (this uses a blocklist of IPs/web addresses - unfortunately these lists vary and legitimate IPs have found their way on)
- Hotspot Shield (this hides your IP amongst other things, which would cause a problem)

All 4’s content is free to watch because we are a 100% advertiser-funded broadcaster. As a government-owned, not-for-profit organisation, the revenue we make from advertising doesn’t go to shareholders – it goes back into making more programmes.

If you’re wondering why you’ve just seen or heard your details in this ad (e.g. your name, location or birth month), it’s because you’re logged in to Channel 4 as one of our registered users who has not opted out from personalised advertising.
This message is to reassure you that we serve all ads through our own network, and do not share any of the personalisation data with our advertisers. We have used some of the data you shared with us when you registered with Channel 4 together with your IP Address in some cases (which gives us an idea of where you are logged on from) so that we can make the ad more personal and relevant to you.
You can change your advertising preferences at any time by opting out of “personalised advertising” in the My Account section on Channel4.com. Please note, you will still see the same number of adverts but they won’t be personalised to you.
